If you look closely, you can see that the wall at the side is different in thickness.

Installing stairs with the blessings of the square 2mm lead – praying for a world of more diverse leads as a mechanical pencil lead craftsman.

Everything went smoothly until the brick making stage. The last step – covering up with dirt – was tricky. So, I grinded the mechanical pencil lead and mixed it with water soluable glue and water and pasted.

Look at the piles of lead boxes used to make the architecture! Well.. not all of them were used though… maybe about a little more than half?

Sungnyemun part1

Sungnyemun(Namdaemun)
Constructed in 1395, Sungnyemun is the first among National Treasures of South Korea…
The city gate that stood by us firmly for years…
… severely damaged by arson in February 2008.
Awaiting for the day when the gate will stand high by us again…
I would like to share my humble work.
CHUJA, mechanical pencil lead craftsman…

Pencil lead is weak and trivial,
While diamond is strong and precious,
Or so everyone thinks.
In fact, pencil lead (graphite) and diamond are composed of the same carbon.
Same roots, but treated so differently…
I aspire to making pencil leads more valued than diamond.
I want to create delight with pencil lead, more than diamonds can do.
