Agua Amarga

Hi there,
today I will show you a little secret: one of the last hidden paradises of the Mediterranean, Agua Amarga.
Agua Amarga (”bitter water”) is a little fishing village on the edge of Cabo de Gata, Almeria, Spain. White-washed houses, a fantastic fine, sandy beach and transparent sea waters.
This is a unique scenery where you can choose from swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or just relaxing on the beach. It’s also a great place for tasting the best fresh fish with a cold beer.
Cabo de Gata is one of my favourites places in Spain and very inspiring for photography.

Samsung Australia, who started their activities on occasion of the launch of Samsung ST550(TL225), ST500(TL220) and ST1000(CL65), Samsung Australia provided their regional fans and customers with information’s about the newest product.

By running various events and surveys, Samsung Australia was, not able to gather more than 4,000 fans on Facebook, but they were also able to achieve a follower base of more than 1,000 within a very short time.

We, at SamsungImaging.net, think that this is a very remarkable and “should be highlighted” result, since, although Samsung Australia was new to this kind of media, they were able to enable and efficiently use the features, Facebook and Twitter offer, such as the usage of hashtags.

Furthermore, through this campaign, Samsung Australia was also able to draw a lot of attention of digital imaging users in Australia, increasing the votes for “Very likely Camera from Samsung” from roughly 20% to 37.25%. (Please see below)

[Take 4] High angle VS Low angle

Today, we’re going to cover best angle, a topic you have all been eagerly waiting for! Haha~

Finding the best angle that makes your face appear the most beautiful!! I believe that by now, you are aware of which side of your face – either left or right – is more camera-friendly. If left side works better for you, always turn your head to show your left side. This may be selfish, but it’s a short cut to the hottest results.

SAM_3096

 ST550(TL225) 4.1F l 1/15s l ISO 320 l +0.7EV l 6.5m l Program AE

To find the best angle….

Here are steps you need to take!! At first, if you want to make your face appear smaller or slimmer, hold your camera up and shoot downwards. If you have chubby cheeks or high cheekbones, high angle is the life-saving angle for you!

SAM_3108_01 ST550(TL225) 3.5F l 1/250s l ISO 80 l +0.0EV l 4.9m l Program AE (Right)

Place the camera looking upwards just like how the model’ is doing with her? and you will instantly become the ‘it’ person. One note, though. Those with a wide forehead risk ending up with a photo that only emphasizes the wide forehead. Something like an extra terrestrial… which is my case. :P

entire To really get a hold of this, you shouldn’t be afraid of trials and errors. Mastering self-camera requires practice after practice. One tip is to use the mirror. Position the camera so that the screen is reflected in the mirror. Well, painful arms is worth enduring for a fantastic photo – well, that’s my opinion, at least. xD

SAM_2139

ST550(TL225) 3.5F l 1/15s l ISO 320 l  4.9m l Program AE

For ST550(TL225), the front LCD allows you to check yourself before taking the photo, which is very handy. This camera is so much more valuable with time.

Before taking self camera, you need to make sure to set the right environment for shooting. For indoor, increase the ISO sensitivity to maximum (800) while maintaining exposure to moderate. For outdoor, a brighter shot than normal makes your face appear more transparent and clear.

Now, let’s repeat step by step.

1. Sit up straight and hold up your right hand to 90 degree angle.

2. While maintaining the height, move your right arm 30cm to the left.

3. Raise your arm to a 45 degree angle.

4. Move up up upwards until the floor is captured in the lens.

SAM_2630 ST550(TL225) 3.5F l 1/15s l ISO 320 l  4.9m l Matrix l Program AE

This works because an object caught at the corner of the wide-angle lens appears distorted. Locate your face to the corner of LCD. The face of your dream is right in front of you! :]

lowshot  ST550(TL225) 3.5F l 1/15s l ISO 400 l  4.9m l Classic mode

For low angle, you have to be very skilled in expression. Low angle is especially artistic when taking pictures of landscape or architecture. Low angle gives a cool and rich feel to portraits as well. Please, make sure to only capture the breast and up.

So, which shot seems to work for you the best? Most often, people will find high angle the best as it gives the golden angle. But, taking pictures always at the same angle is boring and also quickly leave those looking at the photos bored. A compact camera that you can manipulate with one hand has no limits when it comes to angle. Try yourself with a wide variety of angles for a more colorful memory.

Stay tuned until the next posting where I will cover THE gentle charisma - B&W self-portrait!

The road to heaven

 SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

[Samsung WB550(HZ15W) 1/350sㅣf/7.5 ㅣISO 80ㅣ0.00EV l 4.2mm l matrix ]

The word ‘heaven’ can be interpreted as the world of God. The passage where Jesus, in preaching to Nicodemus, the smart Pharisees, said that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit, heaven is a place for the selected. ‘Thy kingdom come’ in The Lord’s Prayer implies that heaven is a kingdom that will dawn in the future.

I am tempted to walk down the road to heaven, if it is near us.

Accidently, I discover a path to the sky while looking up the sky. If I follow that path, will I be able to arrive at heaven? Leaving myself enjoy the imagination, I take a picture of the path to heaven for memory.

Invitation to my world!

Hi, everyone. My name is Ara. I’m living in New York City, studying Fashion Merchandising Management. I’ll go by MINY, which is an acronym of my brand name, May in New York. Samsungimaging sponsors my camera ST500(TL220) so that I can experiment new features such as dual screen, beauty shot, and things like that. Now I would love to invite my readers to my life! :))

I had several ideas for the very first post. As you know, “first” means a lot. However, I decided not to go crazy about quality of pictures, or significant impact of the text. I’ll just share a bit of my life and my interests little by little at a time. So, I’m going to rely on my funny friends this time.

Alex, me, and Robin

I went to my friend, Robin’s house party. She invited those who attended International Fashion Merchandising Management Program in Florence, Italy. We all had a great time during last semester, taking same classes, or traveling together in Europe. It brought us to be bonded among others closely due to the fact that we spent so much time together. HaHa

I asked my friends to make funny and silly faces. And there we go!!! They are Chloe, Casey, Alex, Mya, and Abby. They are smart, talented, creative and FUNNY!!!!! They are photogenic and are willing to mess up their faces or actions for lively and exuberant shots. I love them so much.

sam_0019_re

It was my first trial to actually use the camera. I haven’t read the manual from the CD because I thought I could handle it without problems. But I should’ve done it before I showed off my fancy little baby. But I like these types of blurry shots not using flash. It gives more natural colors and coincidental moments.

He is Daniel, Catherine’s boyfriend, who is a photographer. He was the only one who noticed the most important feature of the camera, Self-Portrait. You can see yourself on the front screen, while taking pictures of yourself.

So I followed him to take my self-portrait while I was eating Entenmann’s marshmallow chocolate cake.

I had so much fun at this party. Thank you to my friends who allowed me to post these pictures. I will cover the topics related to fashion, art, and cultural events in New York later on. Then, guys, see you on the next post! :)
