Today, CNET Asia published their list of “Top 10 cameras of November”, and we’re glad and honored to announced that the Samsung ST550 (TL225) joined the list of the top cameras.

Win snowball game with Santa!

YouTube’s New Year Countdown channel is now on YouTube.com. Plus, they put little snowball fight game with Santa on Samsung HMX-U10 banner!

When you go to the YouTube’s New Year Countdown channel page, you will see the banner of HMX-U10 on the top right corner. If you click that, another window about HMX-U10’s information window will show up and the game shows up on the bottom of the page with little Santa’s drawing. This micro-site will give you lots of information about HMX-U10, so please take some time to go through. Plus, just letting you know, you must have Adobe Flash Player on your PC to play this.

To play this game is really simple. After you click ‘Game Start’, the hand with HMX-U10 will appear and record Santa Claus. However, you have to record him quietly and secretly. If Santa looks back and notices that you are recording him, he will throw snowball at you. After 3 snowball hits from Santa, the game is over. As time goes by, Santa moves faster so you have to pay more attention as Santa moves faster! If you still do not understand, there is ‘How to play’ section so please reference it.

Happy Christmas in Hull…

Hi! I am ISEUL, currently living in Hull, a city located in North Eastern UK. I am studying in Hull University as an exchange student. I bought a new camera when I came here and it’s Samsung ST500(TL220). The last camera I had for 2 years was also by Samsung and I was satisfied with it so I went with Samsung again this time. I like taking self portraits and the dual LDC function in ST500(TL220) was the crucial factor in making my decision to buy this camera.

I took this first picture with my old camera. I always carry camera in my bag. Not only ST500(TL220) is small and lightweight, but the design is so pretty that I can’t wait to take it out to take pictures whenever, wherever. And to the young generations these days, digital camera is a must-have.

I went to the Hull city centre today. The building with the emerald-colored-roof in the picture is the Hull city centre. It is located in the heart of the city so if you ever visit Hull, you should visit the information center (for guides and tips) and start your travel.

These are the buildings found in the city. One of the things that impressed me the most living here was the architecture. Each individual building has its unique charm and style that you never get bored looking at it. You can see the lighting decorations on the building for the upcoming Christmas. And there are Christmas markets opening in the front one by one.

One of the most popular sports in UK must be rugby. There is large screen installed in the middle of the city square and they play live sports games. It’s fun to look at people stopping on their way to watch the screen.

The center of the city was lined with Christmas markets. They were selling all sorts of chocolates, candies and hamburgers. But perhaps due to the cold weather, people were just passing by and I felt a bit sorry for the merchants.

One side of the street was rides for the children. The parents looking at their children enjoying the rides seemed a lot more excited than the children actually riding themselves.

This is a picture of a Santa in a shoe repair shop. The children passing by were excited to see the cute Santa. Thus, Christmas has something special that makes people happy with the smallest things.

The picture of the building floating on the river on the right is a shopping center. It was interesting for me to see the harmony between the new and old architecture in one space. I think this is one of the charms of UK.

This is inside the shopping center. The lightings decorated for Christmas were absolutely amazing. It was the weekend and also was the start of the winter sale season so it was really crowded.

The sun had set already when I came out of the building after shopping. It was only around 5 o’clock when I took this picture but it was no different than in the middle of the dark night! The lights started to light up after the sunset, and it made me feel like Christmas even more.

It’s time to head back home. The colors of double-decker bus differ in each city, and the color of double-decker bus in Hull is brown. It’ll be quite interesting to look at the different colors of bus from different cities. With that thought, it’s a wrap for today.

Since this is the first post, I probably wasn’t perfect. I’ll try to be back with better pictures in the next post. I’m planning on going to York next week. I’ll introduce York to you, a city that has very different atmosphere from Hull. Stay tuned! Till then, bye-bye :)

Today, I want to share the attractions of Colombian food.

Desayuno : breakfast

Hot chocolate, scramble eggs and arepa or small breads are Colombian simple breakfast style. Arepa is the corn bread of the Latin Americans. It looks like white pancake and it filled with meat, cheese, or coconut. For me, arepa tastes nothing special but Latin American really loves to have it.

Almuerzo : Lunch sets

Almuerzo is typical Lunch set of Colombia. Usually called Almuerzo Corriente or Menu del dia. The standard almuerzo would start with a bowl of typical soup(milk and sugar soup, vegetable soup, chicken and corn soup etc.) followed by a full plate with beef or chicken, salads, rice, a fried plantains, beans, greens, pastas and potatoes included frech fruit juice. Gold Museum in Colombia

The Gold Museum (Museo del Oro) displays unique selection of Colombian gold work collection. This is very popular with tourists and you can find the reason when you visit there. Also, it is one of the best museum I have visited.

Bogota’s Gold Museum exhibits the world’s biggest collection of 33,000 pieces pre-Hispanic gold and also the most important museum in Colombia because it is the symbol of El Dorado legend. The collection includes golden masks, bracelets, necklaces and breast plates created from 500 B.C. until the Spaniards arrived in the 16th century. Together with special potteries, a mummy and ancient shells. All artifacts are fabulous and exquisite.

Gold Museum is an absolute highlight and you can see how the ancient culture of Colombia was.

ST500(TL220) took 5th place from the 20 best products for 2009!

As the year 2009 is almost gone, many gadgets and magazines started to rank the best products of 2009, as well as ‘BusinessWeek’. ‘BusinessWeek’ web magazine choose the 20 best products for 2009 and Samsung ST500(TL220) took 5th place!

People around the world liked ST500(TL220) because of hits front 1.5” LCD screen, since it made easy to take self-portrait. As the rate of social networking sites’ users grows, many people started to take self-portrait to upload on their own site or blog. However, it was not easy to take self-portrait because they could not see themselves while they take their own photos. To clear that problem, ST500(TL220) has been invented!

‘BusinessWeek’ gave a compliment on that point too – easy to take self-portrait with front LCD screen. Do you still remember that argument with your friends or family when you believed that Santa Claus was coming to you bringing a bunch of toys through your chimney and they told me it was not true? Yes, I do. I wanted to believe in Santa Claus because I didn’t want to lose my innocent mind. I was a child who was technically supposed to be innocent. Indeed, I believed what I wanted to believe.

One cold rainy day, I walk along the street near a major department store by chance and find that gorgeous Christmas displays grab my attention. I mumble to myself, ‘Wow, well done, they must be spending so much money on this decoration. Look at the moving dolls and LCD screens! Impressively detailed snow balls!’ I suddenly start critiquing the degree of completion and how the theme is organized with other components. I realize that I’m not seeing the Christmas embellishments with the same eyes that I used to. It does not give me the feeling of a mysterious wonderland like it did when I was young. It’s nothing I haven’t been told or seen before. I feel I lose my innocence as time goes by. Actually, I have had the feeling for a long time.
