Swiss, Germany – A place I wish to stay

From time to time when I have a headache or feel tired, I walk the streets. Walking by colleges gives me an unknown energy and through a park or a quiet promenade, I get sentimental. How many streets would there be that give me energy? I took a look.

The first till the fourth picture is Interlaken, Swiss. The nature and the streets seemed to be one with all the trees and the lake by the street. When I became tired of studying for exams or life itself, it seemed like stress just disappeared just by walking these streets. The Alps and the lake that lays aside the street opened my heart and the green grass gave me serenity.

The seemingly endless lake resembled the sea. Usually there are only beaches but aren’t any streets with benches by the sea. So it was different to look at the sea sitting on a bench. I was walking the streets of the city but on one side I could see the sea and the other I could see buildings which make we wonder whether I was in the city or out in the country. Anyways, it really felt amazing.

The fifth and sixth photo is a square in Heidelberg, Germany. A square is a place that has two faces to it since if there’s too many people it’s noisy and if there isn’t anyone it is so quiet and empty. This square interestingly has alphabets here and there which made me wonder why they were there. So I asked a person passing by what the alphabets were, and they turned out to mean a name. When there are many people in this square the alphabets are unseen, but as the people leave the place one by one the alphabets are seen. This square that has various sides came to me as a different feeling.

The last picture is Rotenberg, Germany. This place was quiet and there weren’t many people so it was good to take a walk. The beautiful green grass on the outside of the antique walls of the castle, and the lanes here and there between the grasses….. Unlike the hustle bustle that goes on inside the castle, the streets outside were really quiet. The wall seemed like a mysterious borderline that made the difference of the amount of people. Especially this road seemed to have been made just for the person who would sit on the bench. On the other hand, the bench at the end of the road seemed to arrogantly say ‘you have to walk a bit more to sit here’. I thought I would enjoy some time alone in the quiet and fall into meditation if I read the newspaper or a book here.
