PRESS SUMMARY

Samsung Digital Imaging Co., Ltd. today unveiled two slim and stylish 9 mega-pixel cameras with 3x optical inner zoom capabilities, ST10 and PL10. ST10 and PL10 boast its usability with the innovative “Smart Face Recognition” feature. Samsung's new ST10 and PL10 break new ground by featuring advanced face recognition technology that actually identifies people being photographed rather than just detecting them. Samsung's “Smart Face Recognition” automatically registers people who frequently are photographed and prioritizes the camera's focus on those faces. Users can take very sharp and clear pictures of people they like the most. Furthermore, ST10 and PL10 can create a database for easy photo management based on the faces as well as timeline, contents, and colors. “Smart Face Recognition” enables users to search the pictures of up to 15 faces in a form of thumbnails without looking at each individual photo. In addition to the innovative face recognition technology, the ST10 features a highly responsive intuitive interface integrated into a three-inch hVGA Touch Screen with super clear visibility– giving physical feedback and feel for greater control over the camera's functions. The PL10 features a large 2.7-inch QVGA TFT LCD screen. The new ST10 and PL10 offer an array of automatic controls, including Samsung's Smart Auto mode. When in use, Smart Auto will automatically choose from one of the cameras' 11 “scene modes,” selecting the most appropriate mode for the shooter's environment. For example, if the user is taking a photo of a mountain range, Smart Auto will automatically select the “Landscape” scene mode. If the user proceeds to take a photo of an individual, Smart Auto will switch to the “Portrait” scene mode with no manual action required.Other automatic features found on the ST10 and PL10 include Face Detection, Blink Detection, Smile Shot, and Beauty Shot. Designed to help capture better portraits and group shots of family and friends, Face Detection technology detects up to ten faces and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure better composition and image quality. Smile Shot automatically triggers the ST10 and PL10 to take a photo only when a smile is detected on the faces of subjects, and Blink Detection will automatically fire two consecutive shots if a subject's eyes are closed. Beauty Shot is a progressive function that automatically brightens and evens out skin tones as well as removes blemishes. The ST10 and PL10 provide outstanding sharp images and are packed with advanced technologies and a host of cutting-edge functions, including a built-in PMP (Personal Multimedia Player) with integrated MP3 player and Digital Image Stabilizer. Both models will be showcased at PMA09 Digital Imaging Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ST10 will be available in silver, black, red, and gold and will ship in March 2009.The PL10 is available in silver, black, red, pink, and purple and will also ship in March 2009.
