Samsung to Roll Out More Alien Camcorders

A cousin to the Samsung HMX-R10 we talked about at the beginning of the month, the Samsung SMX-C14 and C10 looks like it came from the same planet as the R10. Samsung may say all they want about ergonomics and this viewing angle is actually better for holding and recording, but it still looks like an extra-terrestrial bug. And the red coloring they added to the body of the C14 and/or C10 doesn’t help much. But the specs and details are very unbug-like.
Samsung says the two new camcorders are a “stylish” addition to the company’s camcorder lineup, and we’ll agree. While we’re still adjusting to the out-of-this-world look, we do appreciate the added color. Available in July 2009, the camcorders will have 10x optical zoom, 2 hour 40 minute battery (recording), hyper image stabilization (we’re thinking this means the camcorder will control you if your hands are too shaky), 16GB internal storage and there’s more but you can check out the full release here.
A 2.7-inch LCD gives you a large enough screen to capture everything you need to. Add on a couple cool features like time-lapse recording, animated thumbnails and a little in-camera editing and you’ve got a pretty sweet deal. After all, looks aren’t everything … and who knows, after time we may come to love the look.
