Samsung flashes IT100 digicam

According to the Knee-Jerk Times, compact cameras may as well toss themselves off a cliff now Sony Ericsson has released its 12MP camphone, the Idou. But Samsung has just come up with four reasons why that’s far from the case.Leading its new pack of digicams is the IT100. It has a 12MP sensor and some very handy features including a 28mm wide-angle lens, 5x optical zoom and the ability to record HD video. Low light shooting should be good thanks to the ISO setting going up to 3200, and there’s optical image stabilization (along with a weaker digital variant) to help reduce motion blur.Slightly more affordable are the 10MP PL50 and 12MP PL65, which ramp up the user-friendliness thanks to Samsung’s ‘smart auto’ mode. This has eleven pre-settings like macro and night portrait, so you can set up shots without getting embroiled in manual misery. If they’re still too dear, there’s always the entry-level ES15. It’s a 10MP affair with 3x optical zoom, and appears to prefer a life of portrait photography with modes like ‘Beauty shot’, which re-touches skin to give it a smoother tone. Maybe it could ‘edit’ our cauliflower ears and lazy eye while it’s at it.
